Dallas Orthopaedic Surgeon and Shoulder Specialist Invited to Direct Workshop in Nice, France
Dallas, TX — Local orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kevin Kruse was recently invited to lecture at the international Nice Shoulder Course training in Nice, France.
Dr. Kruse directed an ultrasound workshop for surgeons consisting of multiple courses on Friday, June 10, 2022, alongside international colleagues Olivier Andreani and Hicham Elhor. The three surgeons led a course titled “How to Perform US Guided Injections.” Dr. Kruse led an additional course titled “How to Perform Sonography of the Shoulder: Make it Easy for Me!”
The intensive three-day shoulder course covering arthroscopy and prosthetic surgeries included live symposia, case discussions, and live surgery sessions and workshops with leading shoulder surgeons across the globe. Dr. Kevin Kruse is uniquely qualified to lecture in this course as he completed a fellowship in shoulder surgery at the Centre Orthopedique Santy in Lyon, France, where he worked closely with the notable surgeon and global authority on shoulder surgery, Dr. Gilles Walch.
Goals for the three day course included understanding various techniques for rotator cuff repairs, treating massive rotator cuff tears, and developing strategies for treating shoulder instability. There were also courses offered on the physio-pathology and treatment approaches of proximal humerus fractures, acromioclavicular dislocations, and arthroplasties.
Attendees who finished the course received an accredited certificate of continuing medical education from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education which can be transferred into American Medical Association continuing credits.
Dr. Kevin Kruse has a personal stake in this work that he does. As a former linebacker for Indiana University’s Hoosiers, Kruse suffered many injuries requiring orthopaedic care. Kruse underwent six surgeries, including two surgeries on his shoulder, as well as additional surgeries on the knee and elbow. Combined with his formal education and extensive training, Dr. Kruse treats his patients with care, compassion, and cutting-edge medical practices. A patient of Dr. Kruse, identified as Orbie, who underwent reverse shoulder arthroplasty was happy with his treatment, stating “It has a lot more mobility than it had before…I’m well-pleased with it and all aspects of it.”
